UN Human Rights Office received allegations that 13 women and girls were victims of rape or gang rape. Darfur Bar Assoc received 30 complaints of sexual harassment, including 16 complaints of rape by Security Forces. Hundreds of women have taken to the streets to protest against sexual violence and harassment to show they were not intimated: They won’t break us. It is impossible to go back. Women were a driving force during popular protests that toppled al-Bashir: We will not allow such things ever to happen, we can stop them. The emergence of rape to disperse protesters indicates development in the type of crimes committed against revolutionaries.
