Pentagon cannot account for nearly $9 billion dollars of Iraqi money

I am asking all readers of this site before they go to bed to check under their pillow or mattress to see if they have a few billion dollars there. According to the latest report of an audit by the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Pentagon cannot account for $8.7 billion in Iraqi oil revenues and other funds it received for reconstruction programs after the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.

So if the Pentagon does not know where the money went maybe our readers can help them find it. The Iraqi people whose lives have been ruined in the wake of the U.S. invasion and occupation could surely use this money to improve their lives.

In 2004 the Pentagon received $9.1 billion from a fund created by the U.S. Occupation Authority. It allegedly was set up to benefit Iraqis with Iraqi energy revenues and assets seized from the ousted government of Iraq. But according to a recent audit the DOD can not properly account for 95% of the money received.

In the report the Inspector General stated that the lack of controls over the money may have led to inappropriate uses. Gee! Well duh?? I guess the billions stolen by U.S. war contractors may have been inappropriate, but at least somebody got rich.

So what if the Iraqi people still lack potable water, adequate electricity, proper sewage systems, proper medical care and education. So what if millions are unemployed. So what if they still die by the thousands in this U.S. war of terror. So what if they are saddled with one of the most corrupt governments in the world next to that of Afghanistan which is also occupied by the U.S.  Puppet governments do not come cheap.

At least we got rid of all those terrorists and weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and made the world safe for American freedoms. God Bless America!!!

Whatever happened to the 2.3 Trillion in defense money that mysteriously disappeared (according to Rumsfeld, Sep. 10, 2001) but was never mentioned again the following day (9/11)? Is it coincidence that the section of the Pentagon that was hit that day contained the info on the missing defense funds?
