Thursday, January 15 –  DAY OF CONSCIENCE

to Act Against the U.S. role in supporting the war crime going on in Gaza.

THIS MUST STOP
FIRST ACT: JAN 15, 12:00 pm:
Meet at U.S. Consulate to the United Nations
140 East 45th Street (betw 3rd & Lexington)
Bring childrens’ shoes, blankets, old clothes to symbolize our resistance to the thousands of people in Gaza — including babies and children — who are dead and wounded by Israel’s bombs and invading military.

SECOND ACT: JAN 15, 5:45 – 7:00 pm
Meet at Grand Central, near the clock
On January 5, 80 of us gathered in Grand Central with photos and signs. On January 15, we will gather again with burial shrouds for babies that will be made for each protester to hold in their arms. We will carry the grief along with the people in Gaza, and show the terrible crimes being committed on men, women and children who have no power, no water,no food and no place to hide.

THIS MUST STOP
At least 30 members of a single extended family, the al Samounis, were slaughtered in Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City. About 110 family members had taken refuge on January 4, in a crowded residential block after the Israeli army ordered them to leave their homes. The next day the area was repeatedly shelled by Israeli forces. The Israelis denied ambulance access to the area for four days. When aid workers were finally allowed in, they found four starving children lying next to their dead mothers; 40 to 50 dead bodies; and 100 other survivors. A Palestinian medical worker said they found bodies run over by tanks and dead children that had been partially eaten by dogs.
