Excerpts from an email the bus tour received from a woman we met in a Walmart parking lot in Arkansas:
It was just such a great recharge to see you guys
doing what you’re doing and absolutely awesome to talk with you about who you
are, not to mention, taking a whiff of my youth in that trailer.
I’m also impressed with whoever does your
advance work. I looked at your site this
morning and read what you all had been doing in Fayetteville
and you hit the perfect places… and
fyi, Unitarian churches are pretty much like the one you visited in Fayetteville
— and where ever you go on your journey de bus, they will always be a
supportive and helpful (unitarians are just way liberal – religiously and
politically – and are totally into social justice.. and always a good check-in
point).
Also glad to see you’ve putting some of the emphasis on
gay/lesbian stuff and women’s stuff, particularly the abortion issues… my
sense is that because things have gone so far to the right, anyone attempting
to bring people back is treading lightly on those points so they can at least
get us the fuck out of Iraq (end every other place we’ve got our finger
on!!) … so march on!
