A team of young World Can’t Wait activists is on the road,
setting up literature tables at nearly every stop on the Vans Warped Tour this summer, spreading
word about the movement to drive out the Bush regime and of the October 5th
Day of Mass Resistance to tens of thousands of rebellious young people.
The
crew has been talking and setting up interviews, which will be on the site
soon, with members of bands on the tour. In Dallas, where they staged an impromptu protest against a
military recruitment booth, with the help of members of one of the bands on the
tour, as well as several dates in the southeast, California
and the Midwest. Currently they are stopping
for dates on the tour in Colorado and then the
Midwest, en route to the East Coast.
So far, they”ve gotten out tens of thousands of copies of
the World Can’t Wait Call and the Call for October 5th, and signed
up hundreds of people interested in organizing for October 5th and
coming into the movement to drive out the Bush regime. One big thing people who
have come to the WCW table have wanted to know is: “HOW is the Bush regime
going to be driven out??” Think the younger generation is just “apathetic”?
This crew of youth sold 97 T-shirts that said “FUCK BUSH. www.worldcantwait.org” in a 3 hour time
span, even as vendors were giving away hundreds of shirts and other materials
for free.
