CLEVELAND _ The trial for Carol Fisher, the political activist accused
of assaulting two Cleveland Heights police officers Jan. 28, starts
April 3 in Cuyahoga Common Pleas Judge Timothy J. McGinty’s courtroom.
This is pretty quick. For whatever reason
the judge wanted to get this case tried as quickly as possible,
Fisher’s attorney Terry Gilbert said Monday afternoon after a morning
pre-trial meeting.
Most cases don’t get tried before six
months, even when people are in jail and can’t make bond and are
guaranteed the right to a speedy trial… Compared to those cases this
is even quicker, Gilbert said, pointing out that Fisher is free on bond.
