A new double sided poster has been created to saturate campuses and high schools to popularize the State of Emergency Protests, a movement dedicated to driving out the Bush Regime and challenge students to take responsibility for changing the course of history.
From the World Can’t Wait Steering Committee –
Our movement is brand new and the thousands who came into the streets represent millions more who want to see this President out of office and his whole program repudiated and reversed, but who do not yet know about this movement, or are not yet convinced that mass independent political action and protest can make a decisive difference. Or they may be still hoping to passively wait it out, not confronting the horror that will be done in their name if they remain idle and complicit.
Our movement with its powerful Call needs to reach out even more broadly to organizations and institutions to join us and to plan broader and more powerful resistance. There are many people we must connect with who have never stepped into taking responsibility for the direction of history before.
The front is designed to post up everywhere and the back includes a challenge to join this movement, excerpts of speeches from the February 4th rally and the Guilty verdicts reached by the International Bush Crimes Commission. The posters should be part of fueling discussion on campus about the stakes the world is facing and change the look of your school.
Important Note: The World Can’t Wait Call is quoted and referenced on the poster, but does not appear in its entirety. It is crucial the Call remain as the foundation of this movement and politics impact society on a whole different level. Distribute The Call along with the posters and make plans to spread this Call broadly through society.
*Print up thousands and tens of thousands of the posters to saturate your campus. Get these up on every dorm room door, on the seats of every lecture hall and every blank wall, bulletin board, desk, dorm room window and kiosk. Strategize with professors and faculty about distributing the posters as part of transforming campus into a center of resistance of this movement. Set up tables and enlarge pictures that expose and condemn the crimes of the Bush Regime. (The website and Today’s Reason could be used)At High Schools stuff all the lockers and teacher’s mailboxes with the poster. Get them up in hallways and downtowns. Distribute them in lunchroom cafeterias and assemblies.
*Get out bundles of these posters out at concerts, on movie lines, the mall, downtown, protests, forums, stores around campus and places where people hang out after school.
*Organize trips to neighboring Universities to distribute the posters and spread this message across the country. We need regional organizers taking responsibility for a national movement.
