National Organizers Conference Nov. 19-20

The World Can’t Wait! National Organizers Meeting

On November 2, a movement was launched. It will spread in the next
two months to demand that . . . BUSH STEP DOWN. If you’ve joined in to
build the initial actions on November 2, and you unite with our Call,
you’re an organizer, and you should be at this meeting!

The weekend of Nov. 19-20 th we are making plans for the next step. This conference is open for all of those who agree with the Call for this movement and want to take responsibility for organizing it, including for the next step. 

Next Step: Mobilize to Drown Out Bush’s State of the Union message,
demand that BUSH STEP DOWN! And Take Your Whole Program with You!

Saturday November 19:

Plenary sessions 10am-6pm: Presentations & discussion on how we’ve
changed things by launching this movement and raising the demand that
Bush step down. More on why the Bush regime must go and how to get our
message out. Proposals for further actions to drive the Bush regime
out, and specific plans for the State of the Union mobilization.

7:00pm Public Forum at Columbia University Law School (116th at Amsterdam Ave.): “Driving Out the Bush Regime – Why We
Must, How We Can, and What Will Replace it?” Panel discussion of
different viewpoints represented in World Can’t Wait, with discussion
to follow.

Confirmed Speakers: Karen Bradley, Democracy Cell Project; Jim
Oberg, World Can’t Wait, Portland OR; Sunsara Taylor, Revolutionary Newspaper. Others TBA

Participants in The World Can’t Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime
from divergent perspectives will speak to the following questions:

1. From your perspective, why is it essential and urgent to drive
out the Bush regime? What led to your decision to help lead this
effort? What do you say in arguing to others that they should join us?

2. Drawing from historical or international examples, what lessons
do you think we need to bring to bear in our effort to drive out this
regime? What is your vision of what it will take, how it will look,
when the Bush regime is forced out?

3. What is your vision of what the Bush regime should be replaced with?


Sunday November 20:

10am – 4 pm: Working groups on fundraising, media, local committee
building, website, design, outreach (to religious, LGBTQ, Women’s
movement, professional organizations/unions), and more. All day
Youth/students meeting.
