NEW YORK CITY: November 2, 12PM, Rally and March, start at Union Square(14th Street)
As
the country awaits criminal indictments in DC, as the 2000th US soldier
dies in Iraq, as Bush demands legal permission to torture, in this
moment, the World Can’t Wait Drive Out the Bush Regime launches a
nationwide repudiation of the regime in the streets.
In New
York City, the Nov 2 rally and march starts at 12 noon at Union Square,
where high school and college students who have walked out of class
will join with thousands of others, ordinary people along with beloved
artists and intellectuals to say “this regime does not represent us,
and we will drive it out.”
And people are not waiting until November 2:
( October 26
members of the World Can’t Wait encampment outside the White House were
arrested with Cindy Sheehan demanding an immediate end to the war and
occupation of Iraq.
( Police arrested students wearing orange
Guantanamo jumpsuits and bags over their heads demanding an end to
torture at Hunter University; in Berkeley students disrupted the class
of Prof John Yoo, author of the Bush Regime’s torture policy.
(Nationwide radio ads on Air America and other stations for Nov 2,
created by Ozomatli, Boots Riley (The Coup), Culture Clash, Suheir
Hammad, Michael Eric Dyson, and Howard Zinn, are galvanizing millions
into action.
“Soon all the pent-up anger and outrage
will come together ( the Black people betrayed in the Katrina debacle,
the millions of women who won’t give up abortion, the immigrants
demonized and rounded upà the majority of decent people who are deeply
alarmed by a regime that is waging an unending war based on lies,
suppressing dissent and science, and turning the US into a nation of
torturers,” said Sunsara Taylor, an initiator of World Can’t Wait.
