My name is Emma and I am one of the many volunteers who came to Washington DC to STOP Trump and Pence from coming to power. Not waiting until Friday or Saturday but to stop him from being inaugurated as President of the United States.
We have been out in the streets every day and every night here in DC, growing to hundreds and tonight we must grow to thousands & soon to millions to bring DC to a halt.

Disrupting Sessions

On Tues. Jan. 10th, RefuseFascism.org protesters disrupted racist Senator Sessions confirmation hearing and were removed in handcuffs. They were dragged out chanting, "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA” and "We refuse to accept a fascist America. We have to be in the streets starting January 14 to stop the Trump/Pence fascist regime from coming to power."

We Protested the 15 Years of the Devastation of Afghanistan

On Friday October 7, we marked the sad anniversary of fifteen years of war against Afghanistan. World Can’t Wait and other activist groups including Veterans for Peace, Granny Peace Brigade, the Raging Grannies, War Resisters League and NYS Green Party protested against the war outside the military recruting center on Times Square.

On August 26, NFL 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick put a lot on the line when he refused to stand for the national anthem. He explained, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” Almost immediately Colin was slammed for being unpatriotic, receiving racist taunts and death threats.

Chelsea said Tuesday, “I am unendingly relieved that the military is finally doing the right thing. I applaud them for that. This is all that I wanted — for them to let me be me... But it is hard not to wonder why it has taken so long. Also, why were such drastic measures needed? The surgery was recommended in April 2016. The recommendations for my hair length were back in 2014. In any case, I hope this sets a precedent for the thousands of trans people behind me hoping they will be given the treatment they need.”
