STOP U.S. Aggression & Continued War on the World! Not in Our Name!
October 6–8 Actions against the U.S. War on Afghanistan
by Debra Sweet
Obama expanded the U.S. war on the people of Afghanistan begun 11 years ago by the Bush regime, now the longest war in U.S. history. The U.S. occupation is fought not only with military personnel, and mercenaries for hire, but increasingly by Special Forces and unmanned drones.
The U.S. continues to imprison and indefinitely detain people without charges, conducting night house raids that terrorize innocent people, and conditions leave women worse off than when the U.S. invaded.
This war MUST end now, not in 2024, a date arrived at by Obama and Karzai, and not on an obscure date in the future!
New York City: Saturday, October 6 12pm World Can’t Wait memorial to those killed by US war on Afghanistan at Times Square, Military Recruiting Center, March to Union Square. Bring shoes to represent the people killed during 11 years of U.S. occupation.
San Francisco Bay Area: Saturday, October 6 12pm Rally and March at Cable car turn-around, Powell and Market Streets and at Obama HQ October 8.
Chicago: Sunday October 7 3pm: Rally and March starts at Tribune Plaza, 435 N. Michigan Ave.
Listen to the report on NPR about the protests in front of the U.N. yesterday:
“This president has the kill list and sends drones to kill actual people, but we can’t bring a paper and fiberglass replica across from the U.N. to protest the use of drones.”
Write if you would like copies of this palmcard to use during the election season. We raised enough funds during the last fund drive to cover the printing costs, so all you’d pay for is the postage. See both sides. Watch video from the DNC protests showing how the cards were used there. To request cards, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your mailing address and the amount you need.
