END THE WAR NOW! – Drive Out the Bush Regime
Thursday Jan. 11, National Protests Against War in Iraq + International Day of Action To Shut Down Guantanamo
Protests will take place across the country on January 11. In New York:

Times Square, 6-7 pm, End the war in Iraq! Activists will wear orange
jumpsuits to protest the war and torture in Iraq, and treatment of
detainees
- Foley Square, Noon to 1:30 pm, vigil to close U.S. detention facility
in Guantanamo. Stop the torture! Look for orange jumpsuits.
- Staten Island, 6-8 pm, Borough Hall (across from Ferry Terminal) End the war in Iraq!
On Thursday, the day after Bush announces a troop surge to Iraq of
20,000 or more troops, activists from the World Can’t Wait – Drive Out
the Bush Regime will protest with thousands of others at military
recruitment centers in cities around the country and at the U.S.
Supreme Court in Washington DC.
DEBRA SWEET, national coordinator of World Can’t Wait– Drive Out
the Bush Regime: “A ‘troop surge is Bush-speak for escalation. He is
stepping up an illegal, immoral and unjust war, and the people have to
get out in the streets and put a stop to it. The politicians have
proved incapable of doing so.”
