1) Distribute the Call
to Drive Out the Bush Regime. To
change the political conversation in this country, to confront people with the
reality of what the Bush regime is doing, and to call forth the movement that
is needed, one millions copies of this Call need to get into people’s hands this spring.
2) Hold showings of the Bush
Crimes Commission, “It’s
Worse Than You Think” and “Voices for Impeachment” DVDs at your home, dorm, school, church,
etc. These DVDs document and indict the
crimes of the Bush regime, and are powerful resources in giving people an
understanding of the scope and magnitude of the fascist trajectory we are
confronting. The Bush
Crimes Commission heard testimony from experts, victims, and former
government officials on 5 indictments of the Bush administration and returned
with a guilty verdict. “It’s
Worse Than You Think” was a teach-in held in NYC Oct. 30 whose title
says it all. “Voices for Impeachment” was held in Washington, DC January 4, 2007 on the opening day of Congress and features Daniel Ellsberg, Cindy Sheehan, Michael Ratner, John Nichols, & Sunsara Taylor.
If you’re one of the many people agonizing over how to
convince your friends they need to act to stop these outrages, sit them down in
your living room and play these DVDs.
Imagine a movement of house showings jumping off, where 5 showings
generated 25 more showings, which in turn generated 100 more showings, etc. Imagine classes interrupting their usual
curriculum on the 4th anniversary of the Iraq
war (March 19) to watch the Bush Crimes Commission segment on the war crimes
committed in Iraq. It’s up to you to make it happen.
3) Make Driving Out the Bush Regime the mission of this generation of youth.
This spring, the campuses need to transform into centers of
resistance, daring to change the whole political landscape in this country. World Can’t Wait has a plan for making this happen:
-
100 Teach-Ins This Semester: “The Bush Agenda. Understanding It. Stopping It.”
- “Make Driving out the Bush Regime the Mission of a Generation” – Speech by Allen Lang, World Can’t Wait National Student
Organizer
4) Donate
to and fundraise for the movement to drive out the Bush regime. Massive funds are needed to drastically
expand the organizing capacity of World Can’t Wait and to reach out to millions
more people who haven’t yet heard of this movement. The Bush regime cannot be driven out without
full time organizers, print, TV, and radio ads, and massive amounts of
materials (flyers, posters, stickers, etc.).
If you donated to get Democrats elected to Congress who now refuse to
stop the war or impeach Bush, consider a better use of your funds. If you made money in the record stock market
this last year, give the same amount you’re paying in capital gains taxes to
this movement. And hold fundraising
parties, shake the can when you’re out flyering, ask your relatives – in short,
being on a mission to drive out the Bush regime means being on a mission to
raise the funds to do so.
