According to the New York Times, “Last March, the federal government set up a Web site to make public a vast archive of Iraqi documents captured during the war”in recent weeks, the site has posted some documents that weapons experts say present a danger themselves: detailed accounts of Iraq’s secret nuclear research before the 1991 Persian Gulf War. The documents, the experts say, constitute a basic guide to building an atom bomb.”
I have come into possession of a transcript of a conversation that took
place at a recent Bush regime cabinet meeting about this embarrassing
situation. The transcript follows:
Dick Cheney: Mr. President. We have discovered that a government website has posted information on how to build a nuclear bomb.
Bush: Well Dick, I would suggest that Rummy and the boys over at
the Pentagon draw up plans to attack the terrorist government that is
providing these atomic secrets to terrorists around the world. As you
know one of the highest goals of my administration is to prevent
nuclear proliferation and the chance that WMDs will fall into the hands
of terrorists. That is why we invaded Iraq and why we intend to attack
Iran. We can not allow atomic weapons or the “know how” to create them
to get into the hands of the terrorists. Just who are the bastards
that put this information on the web?Cheney: Well Mr. President I think you are a little confused. We
are the bastards. It was our “Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal”
site. We can not attack ourselves sir. It was just a little mistake.Bush: Oh! Ah! Okay, forget what I said earlier. Let’s get Tony
Snow on this. Tell him to come up with someone we can blame for this
mistake outside of the administration. Maybe we can get John Kerry to
tell a joke about it.
